Our licenses include carefully selected varieties that have been extensively tested within our own facilities and through international partners. This ensures every licensed variety meets strict criteria regarding vigour, uniformity and market value. With partners such as Van Vliet New Plants, we manage the introduction, follow up and protection of new varieties, supported by clear agreements on royalty management and cultivation support.
Hydrangea licenses
Plant Select remains committed to breeding Hydrangeas with unique characteristics. Our own varieties are always recognisable by the label ‘Hydrangea Select’.
We emphasise traits that make our Hydrangeas stand out in the broad market, such as early flowering or groundcovering growth.

Ilex licenses
For over 15 years, Plant Select has been an important producer of evergreen hedge plants in Europe, including the proprietary licensed varieties Ilex crenata ‘Blondie’ and ‘Dark Green’, under the brand ‘Ilex Select’. Today the production of Ilex varieties is carried out at renowned nurseries across Europe.
‘Dark Green’ is produced almost exclusively by our partner Ilex Concepts, sold under the well known brand ILEXIT!. We continue to search for the ‘best of Ilex’ and invest in breeding projects, ensuring our partners always have access to the best Ilex selections for their customers.
